Merit scholarships

The awarding of merit scholarships to Master's students is the result of a joint analysis of all students enrolled in the Master's courses (Law and Law and Management), with no scholarships being awarded per course. Thus, 10 scholarships will be awarded in the set of the two courses, with the seriation of the students being carried out based on the criteria indicated below, without taking into consideration the Master's course they are attending

i) All registered students are eligible (regardless of the university where they did their degree and whether the degree is in Law), even those who are at the dissertation preparation stage, unless:

a. They interrupt the course for one or more semesters;

b. They do not complete the master's course (curricular part) in the 1st year of attendance;

c. Does not successe the thesis in the semester immediately following the 1st year of attendance;

ii) For the seriation, the application mark will be taken as a reference, resulting from the arithmetic average rounded to the hundredths, and a minimum of 15.00 values is required;

iii) Scholarships will be preferentially attributed to students holding a Law degree from the Oporto School of the Catholic University, without prejudice to the fact that, in the case of students holding a Law degree from another university or students holding another degree with a higher classification, the scholarships will be attributed with a limit of three and one, respectively.

iv) The attribution of merit scholarships depends on the application of the interested party, to be submitted to the Director of the School of Law, by September 15th.

The awards are granted per semester (and not per academic year) with a reassessment being made at the beginning of each semester.

The excellence awards consist of:

50% tuition fee exemption

4th place

20% tuition fee exemption

The extra-curricular units that the student may attend will not be covered by the prize.
