Academic Year 2026/27 - Applications Notice [13]
To apply to the PhD in Management, applicants must:
- Be holders of a master's degree or legal equivalent, with a minimum grade of 14 (students with a grade lower than this, to apply, must have a CV demonstrating their ability to carry out high-quality research);
- Be holders of a bachelor's degree with a minimum grade of 16 and, cumulatively, holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum of recognised quality which, according to the Regional Scientific Council, demonstrates the ability to meet the requirements of the doctoral programme;
- Be proficient in English (level B2 CEFR minimum).

- Copy of the Identification Document/Passport
- Bachelor's and Master’s Degrees Diplomas and Academic transcripts (with final grade and official grading system)*
- Curriculum Vitae
- A letter of motivation that includes a plan of work or knowledge that the student intends to acquire during the research they will develop in the programme
- 2 recommendation letters
- Official English language certificate (level B2 of The Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of References for Languages), or equivalent certificate (Cambridge FCE, Cambridge Michigan ECCE and ECPE, TOEFL, IELTS)
* Documents issued in other countries must be legalised by the diplomatic or consular authority in the issuing country, or contain the Hague Apostille.
If the documents are written in a language other than Portuguese, Spanish, English, French or Italian, an official and certified translation to English or Portuguese must be provided.

Your application will only be considered valid after the payment of the respective fee has been confirmed, so you should make your payment according to the ATM references (for appplicants with Portuguese bank accounts) or the bank data details (for international bank transfers) indicated in the final admission information.

The application fee is not refundable.
The results of each call will be published on this page on the scheduled dates (see step ❷), with the day/time of registration for admitted candidates, and will be expressed as follows:
- “Admitted”
- “Admitted Conditionally” – the admission is dependent on one or more requirements
- "Forwarded to the next call" - application will be assessed in the following call on equal terms with new applicants
- “Not Accepted”
- "Excluded"
Only applicants who have been Admitted can move on to step ❼ (Registration)
The registration process will be made on an online system and the access will be provided to the admitted applicants after publication of the results.
On this platform, it will be necessary to submit:
- Passport photo (* .JPG, * .PNG or * .GIF)
- Copy of the Vaccination card with the date of the last Tetanus immunization
- Information requested by the Portuguese Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education (RAIDES survey [16])
- Registration form and other specific documents to be indicated at the time of admission
- Proof of payment of the registration fee and the 1st monthly fee
The applicant’s withdrawal is assumed if the registration is not completed within the stipulated period.
The originals of the qualification certificates must be presented before the beginning of classes, on a date and time to be defined by the Academic Services
The value of tuition and fees and other emoluments is set annually, so that the values to be charged in subsequent academic years will be increased.
