Access conditions
 
 
In order to apply, students must meet the following requirements:
 
a) Be Portuguese or from a European Union country[1]
 
b) to hold a Portuguese secondary education diploma OR a legally equivalent qualification (see the foreign diplomas accepted here [15])
 
c) to have taken one of the following groups of the Portuguese national secondary education examinations in 2026, 2025, 2024, 2023 or 2022 and to have achieved in these examinations a mark equal to 95 points or higher (on a scale of 0 to 200 points) OR a foreign diploma final examinations considered equivalent. (see the foreign exams accepted here [16]):
  • (19) Matemática A + (04) Economia OR
  • (19) Matemática A + (18) Português OR
  • (19) Matemática A + (13) Inglês OR
  • (19) Matemática A + (07) Física e Química OR
  • (19) Matemática A + (09) Geografia OR

Applicants who apply for the Undergraduate Degree in Economics and the Undergraduate Degree in Management will be ranked jointly. The best applicants will be offered admission regardless of which Undergraduate Degree they have applied for.

FEG/CPBS reserves itself the right to set a minimum application grade higher than 100 points in each application call depending on the quality of the results achieved by applicants.

3 Gather the documents
To apply, students must present:
 
  • Depending on whether they hold a Portuguese secondary education diploma (a) OR a legally equivalent foreign diploma (b):
a) ENES Form (Exames Nacionais do Ensino Secundário) issued in 2026
 
b) foreign secondary education diploma* + certificate attesting the score achieved in the Mathematics’ final examination considered equivalent[1] + certificate of equivalence to the Portuguese secondary education diploma[2]
  • Copy of Identification Document
  • Application form for special quota [18] (if applicable)
  • Special Educational Needs form [19](if applicable)
Students who have already attended a higher education course and wish to apply for equivalence of prior learning, are required to submit their transcripts with the subjects successfully completed in higher education (including marks and workload) as well as the subjects’ syllabus/content.
 
[1] Documents issued in foreign countries need to be certified by the Portuguese diplomatic representation (or consulate) in the country where the document is issued, or bear the Apostille stamp of the Hague Convention. When written in foreign languages other than Spanish, English, French or Italian, these documents must be translated into Portuguese, according to the Portuguese notary laws. The original documents must be presented on registration (if not previously provided).

Applicants holding a secondary school diploma issued by a foreign education institution whose results are not available until after the end of the 1st and/or 2nd application calls must contact admissions.porto@ucp.pt [8].

5 Payment
Your admission will only be considered valid after the payment of the respective fee has been confirmed by UCP, so you should make your payment according to the ATM references indicated in the final admission information.
 
See the Fees at the Tuition & Fees [23] tab for information on admission, enrollment and tuition fees, as well as other information regarding payments.
 
Application fee in not refundable.
6 Check the results
The results will be published in a digital platform of restricted access to the candidates, who will receive the credentials and access link by email, on a date close to the publication of the results, being presented with one of the following designations:
 
  • "Admitted" - if the candidate is admitted without any conditions
  • "Referred to the Next Call" - will be evaluated at the next phase on an equal basis with new candidates appearing at that phase
  • "Not Admitted"
Only Admitted candidates will be able to proceed to the registration.
7 Registration
For the Registration process you will need the following documents:
  • Copy of the Vaccination card with the date of the last Tetanus immunization
  • Registration form and other specific documents to be indicated at the time of admission
  • Proof of payment of the registration fee and first monthly tuition (see the "Fees and Tuitions” tab)
  • 1 Passport photo
The originals of the qualification certificates must be presented on a date and time to be defined by the Academic Services.
 
The applicant’s withdrawal is assumed if the registration is not completed within the stipulated period.

In order to apply, students must cumulatively meet the following requirements:
  • Be Portuguese or from a European Union country[1]
  • Having been registered in a different institution/course in a previous academic years but not having completed it. Students are not required to have successfully completed any of the subjects attended at their home education institution.
  • Having taken one of the following groups of the Portuguese national secondary education examinations OR a foreign diploma final examinations considered equivalent, in any previous academic year, and having achieved a mark equal to 95 points or higher on a scale of 0 to 200 (see the foreign diplomas accepted here [16])
  • (19) Matemática A + (04) Economia OR
  • (19) Matemática A + (18) Português OR
  • (19) Matemática A + (13) Inglês OR
  • (19) Matemática A + (07) Física e Química OR

Selection criteria: When the number of applicants exceeds the number of places available, applicants will be ranked according to the Final mark achieved at secondary school, the Mathematics’ final examination and the academic performance in higher education.

  • Depending on whether they hold a Portuguese secondary education diploma (a) or a legally equivalent foreign diploma (b):
a) ENES Form (Exames Nacionais do Ensino Secundário)
 
b) foreign secondary education diploma[1] + certificate attesting the score achieved in the final examinations considered equivalent[1] + certificate of equivalence to the Portuguese secondary education diploma[2]
  • Certificate (transcript of records)[1] attesting to the successful completion of the subjects attended in a higher education institution (in the original programme or in a different context, namely attendance of isolated subjects) with the corresponding marks and ECTS credits earned/workload. Students who have not successfully completed any subject are required to submit certificate attesting to their registration in a higher education institution
  • Copy of Identification Document
  • Special Education Needs Form [25] (if applicable)

Students who cumulatively satisfy the legal conditions described below may apply under this regime:
  • Be Portuguese or from a European Union country[1]
  • to hold a bachelor’s, undergraduate, master’s or doctoral degree, or equivalent
  • to have taken a foreign diploma Mathematics’ final examination considered equivalent OR, in its place and in the following order, to have completed a Mathematics subject in a higher education institution that is deemed equivalent OR to have achieve a passing score in FEG/CPBS Mathematics test (date and time to be published).

    • foreign secondary education diploma[1]+ certificate attesting the score achieved in the Mathematics’ final examination considered equivalent[1] 
    • syllabus/content of the Mathematics subjects completed in a higher education institution
  • Certificate[1] attesting to the academic degree detailing the subjects completed, marks achieved and ECTS credits earned/workload and final mark
  • Copy of Identification Document
  • Special Education Needs Form [25] (if applicable)

1 Check if you are eligible
Students who satisfy the cumulatively legal conditions described below may apply under this regime:
 
  • Being at least 23 years old on the 31st of December 2025
  • not have the qualifications required to access higher education under another regime

​Applicants will have to take and be approved in a written examination to be taken at our University. The exam is based on the Mathematics A syllabus taught in the Portuguese secondary education system. Further information regarding the exam here [26].

Applicants who achieve a mark lower than 10 points (on a 0 to 20 scale) on the written text shall be eliminated. When approved, applicants will have to take an interview.
 
Ranking and selection for the Undergraduate Degree in Economics and the Undergraduate Degree in Management will be done jointly for both courses and will take into consideration the mark attained in the exam, as well as the applicant’s motivation (to be assessed during the interview) and Curriculum Vitae or resume.

  • Statement of honor that applicants do not have the qualifications required to access higher education under another regimen [27];
  • Academic and professional Curriculum Vitae (CV or resume), updated and signed
  • Additional documents (certificate attesting to the highest qualification completed, when applicants have any, other certificates, recommendation letters) that applicants find useful to demonstrate the submitted CV or resume
  • Copy of Identification Document
  • Special Education Needs Form [28] (if applicable)
