I. Bolsas da Direção Geral do Ensino Superior (BDGES)

Condições de candidatura para novos alunos

  • Ser aluno de estabelecimento de ensino superior (só poderá candidatar-se depois de já ser aluno da Universidade)
  • Ser cidadão português ou cidadão estrangeiro com autorização de residência permanente.
  • O aluno não pode ser já titular do grau que pretende frequentar ou de grau superior (Ex: quem já é licenciado e pretende fazer nova licenciatura, não pode usufruir de BDGES)

Síntese dos critérios de análise 

  • Análise com base no ano fiscal anterior. Poderão ser bolseiros os estudantes cujo rendimento per capita do agregado familiar seja igual ou inferior a 18 vezes o Indexante de Apoio Social em vigor no início do ano letivo, acrescido da propina máxima para ensino superior público. 
  • Os critérios de análise são complexos e compostos por diferentes fatores. Se pretende conhecê-los em profundidade bem como em que medida se adaptam à sua realidade, marque uma entrevista connosco (ee.bolsas@ucp.pt).

Taxa de Esforço

Corresponde ao valor que um estudante candidato a bolsas sociais considere, em sintonia com a Universidade, poder pagar. A Taxa de Esforço é sempre exigida. Aos candidatos a bolsa da DGES é facilitado que paguem apenas a Taxa de Esforço até sair o resultado da candidatura. Este estudante deverá entregar à Católica o valor da Bolsa DGES concedido (até ao montante de propina) no prazo máximo de uma semana após receber o respetivo depósito bancário.

II. Apoio Social da Católica Porto (AS-UCP) – www.ee.porto.ucp.pt

Características:

  • Candidatura autónoma e facultativa. Ao candidatar-se às BDGES não está a candidatar-se aos Apoios Sociais da Católica!
  • Cada estudante deverá contar com pagamento parcial da propina (Taxa de Esforço). O Apoio Social da Católica apenas poderá cobrir uma parte da propina
  • O Apoio Social da Católica consiste num adiantamento ao aluno. Uma vez concluído o curso, o valor global dos apoios atribuídos ao aluno terá de ser devolvido à Universidade, sem qualquer juro.

V. Estudantes com incapacidade igual ou superior a 60%

A Direção Geral do Ensino Superior (DGES) atribui bolsa de estudo a todos os estudantes com incapacidade igual ou superior a 60% (devidamente comprovada através de um atestado médico de incapacidade multiuso). Mais informações aqui

GENERAL INFORMATION ON WELFARE SUPPORT

DGES SCHOLARSHIPS      CATÓLICA’S WELFARE SUPPORT      INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS      OTHERS

 

I. Scholarships from the Direção-Geral do Ensino Superior (Directorate General for Higher Education)

Admission conditions for new students

  • Being a student of a higher education institution (you can only apply if you are already a student of the University)
  • Being a Portuguese citizen or foreign citizen with a permanent residence permit.
  • The student cannot already hold the degree he/she intends to attend or a higher degree (e.g.: if he/she already has a degree and intends to get a new degree, he/she cannot benefit from DGES' scholarships).

Summary of the analysis criteria

  • Analysis based on the previous fiscal year. Students whose household's per capita income is equal to or less than 18 times the Social Support Index in force at the beginning of the school year, plus the maximum fee for public higher education, may be granted a scholarship.
  • The analysis criteria are complex and composed of different factors. If you wish to know them in greater detail, as well as to what extent they are suited to your circumstances, please book an appointment with us (ee.bolsas@ucp.pt).

Effort Fee

It corresponds to the amount that a student applying for welfare grants considers, in agreement with the University, to be able to pay. The Effort Fee is always required. Candidates for a DGES scholarship are encouraged to pay only the Effort Fee until the outcome of their scholarship application is announced. This student must hand in to Católica the DGES scholarship amount granted (up to the tuition fee) no later than one week after receiving the respective bank deposit.

II. Welfare Support of Católica Porto (AS-UCP) - www.ee.porto.ucp.pt

Features

Autonomous and optional application. When applying for the BDGES, you are not applying for the Welfare Support Program of Católica Porto.
Each student should count on partial payment of the tuition fee (Effort Fee). Católica's welfare support can only cover part of the tuition fee.
Católica's Welfare Support consists of an advance payment to the student. Once the course is completed, the total amount of the aid granted to the student will have to be returned to the University, without any interest.

Admission Conditions

  • Apply simultaneously to the DGES' scholarship
  • You cannot already hold the degree you wish to attend or a higher degree (e.g.: if you already have a degree and wish to apply for a new one, you cannot benefit from Welfare Support)

Effort Fee

This is the amount that a student applying for welfare grants considers, in agreement with the University, that he or she can afford to pay. The Effort Fee is always required.

V. Students with 60% or more disability

The Directorate General of Higher Education (DGES) grants scholarships to all students with 60% or more disability (duly proven by a medical certificate of multi-disability). For more information, click here.
