Programme outline: The undergraduate degrees in Economics and in Management are three-year programmes (180 ECTS credits). To complete the degree, students must be approved in the following extracurricular requirement:

Programme timetable: Presence is required in daytime and the standard teaching day runs from 8:30 to 19:00. Exceptionally, students may be required to attend classes until 20:30 and at times on Saturday mornings. Examinations are held from 8:30-19:00, Monday to Friday and on Saturday mornings.
Language of instruction: the courses are taught in Portuguese and in English and can be taught exclusively in English when requested by student.
We reward students who have a high level of academic achievement with merit scholarships.
TOP HONOURS SCHOLARHIPS (100%)
≥ 18 values:
Students admitted in the first year (1st stage) with an average of 18.00 or higher have a full scholarship for their first Undergraduate year.
≥ 17 values:
The students who move to the 2nd and 3rd year, and to the 4th and 5th year of the Double Degree in Law and Management, with an average of 17.00 or more in the previous year have a scholarship for the next year of the Undergraduate year.
HONOURS SCHOLARHIPS (80%, 50%, 20%)
Students admitted in the first year (1st stage) with average application between 17.99 - 16.00 are candidates for an Honours Scholarship, awarded by ranking. 30 Honours and Top Honours scholarship are awarded to new students *.
The students who move to the 2nd and 3rd years, as well as the students of the Double Degree in Law and Management who move to the 4th and 5th years, with an average between 16.99 - 15.00, are candidates for an Honour Scholarship. 40 Honours and Top Honours Scholarship are awarded to continuity students.
*Católica Porto Business School can exceed the number of scholarships in order to contemplate all new Top Honours students. This information does not excuse the consultation of the Regulation on merit scholarships.

For students who have completed the secondary education diploma or a legally equivalent qualification and were approved in a final of Mathematics this year or in one of the previous 2 years.
In order to apply, students must meet the following requirements:
a) to hold a Portuguese secondary education diploma OR a legally equivalent qualification (see the foreign diplomas accepted here)
b) to have taken the Portuguese national secondary education examinations (Mathematics A (19) in 2021, 2020 or 2019 and to have achieved in these examinations a mark equal to 95 points or higher (on a scale of 0 to 200 points) OR a foreign diploma Mathematics’ final examination considered equivalent. (see the foreign exams accepted here)
This regime does not apply to students with International Student Status (as defined in Decree-Law 36/2014 of 10th March and ruled by NR/R/0105/2019 of 7th March, which publishes the Implementing Regulation of the International Student Status of Universidade Católica Portuguesa).
Application score (for ranking purposes): 60% of the secondary education diploma’s grade + 40% of the final exam of Mathematics. Minimum total grade of 100.0 points (in a 0 to 200 grading scale). Applicants who apply for the Undergraduate Degree in Economics and the Undergraduate Degree in Management will be ranked jointly. The best applicants will be offered admission regardless of which Undergraduate Degree they have applied for.
FEG/CPBS reserves itself the right to set a minimum application grade higher than 100 points in each application call depending on the quality of the results achieved by applicants.

Students who have already attended a higher education course and wish to apply for equivalence of prior learning, are required to submit their transcripts with the subjects successfully completed in higher education (including marks and workload) as well as the subjects’ syllabus/content.
*Documents issued in foreign countries need to be certified by the Portuguese diplomatic representation (or consulate) in the country where the document is issued, or bear the Apostille stamp of the Hague Convention. When written in foreign languages other than Spanish, English or French these documents must be translated into Portuguese, according to the Portuguese notary laws. Applicants holding a secondary school diploma issued by a foreign education institution whose results are not available until after the end of the 1st and/or 2nd application calls are required to submit their school-leaving certificate and a declaration/certificate of equivalence to the Portuguese secondary education system no later than the 03rd September (applicants from the 1st call) and 09th October (applicants from the 2nd call). After the examination of the scores submitted, the results of the 1st and 2nd application calls will be republished until 07th September and 12th October, respectively. Thus:

For applicants who are at least 23 years old on the 31st of December of the year previous to the one they are applying to and do not have the qualifications required to access higher education under another regimen.
Students who satisfy the cumulatively legal conditions described below may apply under this regime:
Applicants will have to take and be approved in a written examination to be taken at our University. The exam is based on the Mathematics A syllabus taught in the Portuguese secondary education system. Further information regarding the exam here.
Applicants who achieve a mark lower than 10 points (on a 0 to 20 scale) on the written text shall be eliminated. When approved, applicants will have to take an interview.
Ranking and selection for the Undergraduate Degree in Economics and the Undergraduate Degree in Management will be done jointly for both courses and will take into consideration the mark attained in the exam, as well as the applicant’s motivation (to be assessed during the interview) and Curriculum Vitae or resume.
